Our agents matter

Encova is dedicated to building relationships with our communities, policyholders and agents. We recently heard from one of our agents about his family’s stay at the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, an organization we are proud to be long-time supporters of.

During an agency visit to Hitchings Insurance, Dean Plott, district sales manager, and Chris Allen, personal lines territory manager, met with Dominic Frey and his wife, Nicole, who had just returned from maternity leave. After inquiring about Nicole and the baby’s well-being, Dean and Chris learned of baby Abigail’s story.

“Nicole and I were able to stay at the Ronald McDonald House [in Columbus, Ohio] while our four-month-old daughter had open heart surgery,” Dominic said. “We knew she would need surgery while she was still in the womb, and this day was not one we had been looking forward to. We were appreciative and thankful for the Ronald McDonald House and having a place to stay so close to the hospital. While heading to our room the night before, we were pleasantly surprised to be staying in the Encova hallway.”

Encova was part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio’s capital campaign in 2013 to expand and ultimately become the largest location in the world. We are proud to have a hallway of rooms for families to stay in during their times of need.

“It was awesome to see a carrier that I sell insurance for be supporting us in this time,” Dominic said. “It brought a smile to our faces to see a familiar company!”

Abigail is doing great post-surgery. “She is growing at a much faster rate now and has a lot more energy. We had our first follow up appointment four weeks after Abigail’s surgery, and the cardiologist said you can’t even tell she had surgery; her heart is fully repaired. An answer to our prayers!”
