ENCOVA TRAINING

2023 PRODUCER TRAINING: LEVERAGING A VOLATILE MARKET TO ADDRESS COMMERCIAL AND PERSONAL RISKS FOR CLIENTS

You’re invited to Encova Insurance’s 2023 Producer Training! The training is intended to help agents stay at the forefront of today’s ever-changing insurance industry. Learn strategies to help your clients leverage a volatile market to address commercial and personal risks. This year's curriculum includes training focused on commercial lines, workers' compensation and, as a new addition, personal lines.

This virtual training will cover six modules and is split into two three-hour sessions, and each session covers three modules. Each session is offered twice to ensure you can attend. We have applied for continuing education credit for each module in all of our operating states with the exception of Minnesota. Review the module descriptions, then view the schedule below and register for the time that works best for you. You will receive the Webex link a few weeks before the session(s) you register for.

Insurance professionals continue to face a time unlike any other in the industry’s history, including unparalleled events, emerging and escalating risks and digital disruptions. It is increasingly challenging for insurance agents to adapt and thrive in a volatile insurance market, combined with a rapidly changing workforce and the escalating emergency of artificial intelligence (AI).

In this module, participants will learn how to:

  • Manage the risks and opportunities arising from adverse financial events and the “hard market”
  • Provide leadership and address the challenges of the changing workforce
  • Prepare for the increasing use of artificial intelligence

An increasing number of businesses and industries are now eligible to be written on business owners policies (BOPs). However, even though a business may be eligible for a BOP, a BOP may not be appropriate for that business.

In this module, participants will learn:

  • The advantages of writing a business on a BOP
  • What must be assessed to determine if a BOP is appropriate for the business
  • How to address clients who are currently on a BOP, or are being presented one from a competitor, but are not a good fit for one

More and more insurance professionals are becoming specialists in select industries or professional niches. As a result, it is increasingly difficult for generalist agents to compete with the specialists. Insurance carriers are also creating niche products and services to accommodate these needs in the marketplace.

In this module, participants will:

  • Identify the unique risks in construction, manufacturing and retail
  • Discuss specific coverages and endorsements that address these unique risks
  • Learn how to engage in a dialog that differentiates you from the generalist agent

Client demands, frequent interruptions and the expectation of immediate responses can be burdensome and distracting. We live in a world where our time is often not our own.

In this module, we will explore the barriers that often prevent producers from being able to focus on what they need to get done and how to take back control of their day.

Strategies will include how to:

  • Set and communicate clear client expectations
  • Pivot from distractions to meet client service expectations
  • Leverage your calendar more effectively to exceed client expectations

Business owners and officers tend to be exposed to numerous significant risks in their personal life. These risks usually don’t gain their attention at the same level their business does, even though a loss arising from their personal risks can ultimately put their businesses at risk.

In this module, participants will learn to:

  • Identify personal risks that are frequently overlooked and not addressed by insurance policies
  • Explore enhanced coverage and endorsements
  • Review the latest trends in personal lines for all consumers

Except for copyrighted insurance policy forms, no two insurance policies are the same. This is especially true with manuscript policy forms, which are insurance policy forms that are custom designed by each carrier. A single phrase in these policies can dramatically change whether or not coverage is in force, or a claim will be limited or denied.

In this module, we will explore:

  • The “dirty secret” about manuscript policy forms
  • How to assess critical terms and conditions in excess liability, D&O and cyber policy forms
  • How to leverage this process as a competitive advantage
